This Spring our program of guided walks currently consists of two bird walks and a wildflower walk. The wonderful rainfall we’ve enjoyed over the last four months have left the reserve looking beautifully lush and green, so get out there and enjoy it by signing up for one of our guided walks.

Pinnacle birdo John Brannan will lead a gentle stroll through the lush
woodlands of The Pinnacle NR, looking at the local resident birds and the newly arrived
migrants as the breeding season gets under way.
Some of the walk may be off-track, so wear appropriate shoes or boots.
Dress for the weather and bring your binoculars, camera or both.

Sunday October 25Wildflower Walk
9-30 am to 12 noon
Our go-to plant people John Fitz Gerald and Nola McKeon will share their knowledge on a delightful walk through some of the reserve’s loveliest areas of native wildflowers. Good rain in recent months promises an outstanding show of native wildflowers and forbs. The route of the walk will also skirt past the latest area declared as an environmental offset, and discuss the potential for future ecosystem improvement in an area that will one day be added to the reserve.
Note that this walk covers 3-4 kilometres over uneven terrain and is not suited to young children or people with limited mobility. Wear appropriate shoes or boots, dress for the weather and bring some water.

Sunday November 01Guided Bird Walk #2
9 am to 11-30 am
Join John Brannan on this late-season walk through The Pinnacle NR,
focusing on the breeding sites for our summer migrants, but also keeping an eye out
for the resident locals as they try for a second (or even third!) brood if the
conditions are still suitable.
Some of the walk may be off-track, so wear appropriate shoes or boots.
Dress for the weather and bring your binoculars, camera or both.

Meet at: carpark opposite De Salis St. on Springvale Drive, Weetangera

and containing details of the time, place and weather outlook.
The usual meeting place is the noticeboard 200 m northwest along the track leading
from the end of the car park opposite De Salis St. on Springvale Drive, Weetangera.
